Tasting Notes: The only Pinot Noir we produce outside of the Santa Maria Valley, due to the pedigree of this incredible vineyard. We harvested just after a solar eclipse. Cherry cola and boysenberry fruit, tarragon and sandalwood on the nose, followed by undulating flavors of blueberry, rhubarb and cardamom. Lane says, “The clone 2A is a big bruiser and needs to be picked a bit later than many PN clones so you will always see our S & B a bit higher in alcohol than our other wines. This 2017 vintage is everything I expect from S & B. It is not for the faint of heart. For those of you that like a more refined PN, please store this away for 5 to 17 years. For you head bangers out there, drink it now! I would still give it an hour or two to breath but…trust me…it’s a block buster in a bottle!” 90 cases produced. A Pinot Noir with great aging potential.
