Tasting Notes: This single-vineyard Chardonnay is lean and crisp with pear, honeydew melon and mineral notes up front, followed by flavors of tangerine and lemon custard. There is a striking salinity throughout, expressing the ancient sandy soils. 230 cases produced.  Drink now through 2028.

Tasting Notes: Sourced from one of our favorite Pinot Noir vineyards, this Pinot Gris offers aromas of canteloupe, white peach and honeysuckle. On the palate it offers fresh melon, butterscotch and peach flavors focused around a striking acidity and minerality. The finish is long and lingering.  110 cases produced.  Drink now through 2028.

TASTING NOTES: Aromas reminiscent of fresh-spun cotton candy at a summer carnival, with notes of jasmine in the air. Beautifully integrated crisp acidity and creaminess, with flavors of lemon curd, honey, and almond butter on the palate, and wet stone mineral notes on the finish. Serve with sushi, shellfish, ceviche, or vegetarian fare. Made by Lane Tanner with 100% Grenache Blanc from Martian Ranch Vineyard in the Alisos Canyon. 115 cases produced. Drink now through 2025.

Lumen ‘Escence’ 2020

Lumen Escence is the first orange wine ever produced by Lumen. We picked our favorite Pinot Gris at Sierra Madre Vineyard a few weeks early, which means it had low sugars and high acidity, then fermented on the skins for a full 12 days. The resulting wine is full of character: meyer lemon, orange zest, grapefruit rind and wet stone minerality.

Lumen ‘The OG’ 2019

The OG is the first of its kind. The brainchild of Lane Tanner, who always wanted to make a ‘Frankenwine,’ and Will Henry, who wanted to explore his orange roots. Lane’s version was made with adding fresh organic ginger to a fermenting barrel of Grenache Blanc; Will’s version was a full skin contact Pinot Gris. The two wines, both made ‘sans soufre’ or without added sulfites, were then blended before bottling. The result is a wine the likes of which you have never tasted. Ginger is a natural antioxidant, and we think it will preserve the wine much in the way sulfites do. Needless to say, it is the only additive in this wine other than yeast and grapes – and a whole lotta love.
